Merchant Seafarers records before 1918 were mostly destroyed in the late 1960s except for the records of Ship's Masters.
It may be possible to trace Merchant Seafarers between 1914/18 by their medal cards.
Ship voyages and service medal entitlements can be investigated at the National Archives Kew.
UPDATE: 1st September 2015
Sadly, we do not have a research service now after our last researcher Don died.
Ideally you need to be in the London area for reasonable access to the National Archives, Kew.
